To begin with, I would like to talk about four important parts that have been provided to be answered: Personality and interests, Academic background, Study goals and personal development, and the reasons of applying to the program.
Firstly, I want to talk about my personality and interests; (what makes you unique, and why do your personal qualities make you particularly qualified to succeed as a …. finalist)?
I will talk about my personality that belongs to my intellectual qualities like intelligence, activeness, way of speech, thinking, and reasoning abilities. With these personalities, I can develop myself to become a better person in the future. I always remember what was said by Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can be used to change the world” and being implemented throughout the world by most of scholars to contribute to their countries. Therefore, I am also interested in applying for this scholarship to study at one of international ranking university in ………..to study hard to contribute to my country, Timor-Leste.
Secondly, regarding my academic background and objective; (how has your academic background prepare you to succeed as a student of higher education in the United State and what academic goals do you have for the ....... program)?
I started primary school at EBF Nu-ú Laran in 2012 and finished it in 2017. In 2018, I continued my studies for junior high school at Colégio Paulo VI and completed it in 2020. At the end of 2020, I sat for a test and passed to enter boarding school ‘Colégio Nossa Senhora De Fátima Aspirantado Salesiano De Dom Bosco Fatumaca’. From 2021- 2022, I was studying in the boarding school and all went well: school activities, school grades, and religious performance. However, at the end of 2022, I decided to move out from boarding school as I had no vocation (God’s call to serve the followers of Jesus) to become a priest in the future. I was given a transfer letter to continue the Final Year of Secondary School at Ecola Paroquial São Pedro. In relation to educational objective, I can say that I would like to succeed leaning in the ....... by developing all the skills and knowldege I have. Learning successfullly in the ....... is a previlege that I can use to help others through my professional career development I realize that being a successful person is the key to develop and help others who are in need.
Thirdly, my goals are related to my studies and personal development; (what interest you specifically about propose field of study and what do you hope to accomplish in the fututre)?
goals are motivation tool for a person to achieve something desired. My goal since I was a kid is to be a leader in the future. So at the end of 2019 when I was studying in 8th grade, we made a mini-campaign to choose the next leader of the student council, and finally, I became a leader of the next student council in 2020. There is some group that I have been led such as; a group of acolytes (Dom Bosco Fatumaca), a chief of documentation of ASSALES, and a captain of Asquely FC. From this position I learned that being a leader is not easy, I have many shortcomings that must be changed. I developed myself from all of this and I understand that to be a leader we should have integrity, self-awareness, courage, respect, empathy, and gratitude.
Lastly, is about the reason why I am applying to this program and how it relates to my interests and future objectives; ( what specifically do you wish to gain through studying and living in the ...? What do you belive will be thr greatest benefits to your personally? How do yours goals for the program specifically related to your long-term professional plans?
the reasons why I am applying to the ....... program are I want to access better education, gain new experience living in another country and reduce my parent's financial burdens. I believe that with this scholarship I can develop myself to be better. It relates to my interest because I already watched the interview with Timorese who studies there, and they talked about their wonderful experience studying there. It is related to my future objective because I want to be a leader in the future, I need to have a good academic background, and I need to have more experience in another country so I can develop my country.
